Frequently Asked Questions
Who can have an autism assessment?
We provide autism assessments for children (from 3 of age), adolescents, and adults.
Our assessments are tailored to each individual's age, developmental stage, and unique needs to ensure a comprehensive, evidence-based, and person-centred evaluation.
Whether the assessment is for a young child, a teenager, or an adult, our multidisciplinary approach aims to develop a thorough understanding of the individual's strengths, differences, and support needs, leading to personalised recommendations and appropriate next steps.
Am I guaranteed to receive an autism diagnosis at the end of the assessment?
No. An autism diagnosis cannot be guaranteed.
If you meet the diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), this will be discussed with you and clearly explained. If you do not meet the criteria, we will explain our clinical findings and, where appropriate, consider alternative explanations or differential diagnoses.
Regardless of the outcome, you will receive a detailed assessment report with individualised recommendations to support your wellbeing and guide any appropriate interventions or next steps.
How much does an assessment cost?
There are different types of assessment based on age and purposes:
Multidiciplinary Child Assessment
Fee: €1750
The cost of the assessment includes all core components of the multidisciplinary autism assessment, including:
- Review of referral information and pre-assessment questionnaires
- A comprehensive developmental history interview (ADI-R)
- The autism assessment with your child (ADOS-2)
- School and/or home observation
- Multidisciplinary case discussion and clinical formulation
- A dedicated feedback session to discuss the findings and recommendations.
- A comprehensive written assessment report.
If additional assessment components are clinically recommended - such as a cognitive assessment, or an OT assessment - these may incur an additional fee.
Any additional assessments or associated costs will always be discussed with you in advance, and no additional work will be undertaken without your agreement.

This assessment is conducted by a single clinician and includes the same core assessment components outlined above. It is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of your child's strengths and support needs.
